Gundara’s silk shawls are produced in a women’s cooperative in Mazar-i Sharif in Northern Afghanistan. 3.000 women are here involved with the production of silkworms. 25 women spin the silk and weave it by hand into these beautiful silk scarves. The cooperative does not have its own sales room, but is so far only selling in an informal way, often to foreign embassies in Afghanistan. We are happy to give an income to Afghan women by offering these beautiful handmade silk scarves to you.
